Connemara Tour

The beauty of Connemara through the quaint village of Louisburgh and the famous Doolough Valley

Pick up at a Westport Town Centre landmark or hotel and Connemar here we go!

This is my favourite tour, I never ever tire of it, I love the quaint village of Letterfrack, it has a dark history but a pint sitting in Veldons beer garden can obliterate a lot of life’s concerns!

Letterfrack is at the entrance point to Connemara National Park if you would like a short stroll or view Daimond Hill from the base.

Coffee stops and photo stops at your request – grab plenty of both! We’ll tour at your pace—for your taste.

Roughly a 6 hour round trip

Social media content curation, or just relaxation, this tour should tick many boxes. . .

ITINERARY

– First stop after setting off from Westport Town Centre is the Croagh Patrick mountain site, including the Irish Famine memorial in Murrisk village.

– Then it’s onwards to the small village of Louisburgh. Cameras at the ready as we embark through the inimitable Doolough Valley and “out the other side” into Delphi.

– We’ll pass the Aashley Waterfall in the village of Leenane—the backdrop to Jim Sheridan’s epic film, “The Field”.

– If it’s open (seasonal hours) we’ll stop at The Misunderstood Heron, a highly accoladed food “truck”. With or without a coffee, the views of Killary Fjord from this area are spectacular.

– Next up is Kylemore Abbey and most quaint of all—Letterfrack—at the entrance to Connemara National Park.

– Next stop is Clifden, one of the more larger towns in the area, though no less beautiful.

– On the return trip to Westport, we’ll pass through Leenane again and join the main road back to Westport.
