I wasn’t sure what it would be like spending the day with a driver, but Patricia made it very comfortable. She was eager to accommodate our interests and embellished the Connemara drive with her own knowledge of the area. We especially appreciated her emphasis on the Famine in the Doolough Valley. Patricia was very flexible about adding stops that reflected our wish list and she also struck the perfect balance with my young adult son. Many of the stops wouldn’t appear in a guidebook, but were ruins or other places that Patricia knew well. She grew up near Westport and brought all that insight into the trip. Listening to Patricia talk about Ireland past and present brought so much to the experience. The day was more like spending time with a relative or family friend than a canned bus tour, and we appreciated that because our trips to Ireland have been very much family focused… we just don’t have anyone in this gorgeous part of Ireland. Patricia took great pictures of us, too, and we didn’t feel self conscious given her relaxed and easy manner. The trip was also easy to arrange in advance and Patricia was very patient with questions, very responsive. Highly recommend!
